THE QUESTION

How small can something get before it stops looking like itself?

A photograph holds millions of values. A twenty three brick dog holds twenty three decisions. Everything else gets thrown away, and what survives the throwing away is the part worth arguing about.

Drag any of them to turn all four. Which one stops being your dog?

WHERE THE AI HAS TO BE

hypothesis

The hard part is the part the photo never showed you.

Two of these six steps need a generative model. The rest is ordinary engineering.

the intrinsic AI

WHAT EXISTS TODAY

v1, working

I have the flat one. The project is the other one.

A photo goes in, a studded panel comes out with a parts list and a rough cost. It works. It is also a picture.

More pieces, less object. The flat version needs ten times the parts to say less than the solid one does, and you cannot pick it up.

WHAT I HAVE FOUND SO FAR

early, incomplete

Three near misses.

Two weeks of looking, not a literature review. I have not found photo to buildable model anywhere.

THE QUESTIONS I AM STUCK ON

I am at the question stage, not the answer stage.

Pick the one you have something to say about.

FEEDBACK

Tell me where this is wrong.

Six questions, ninety seconds. What you write stays private, only the counts are shown.

01 · YOUR NAME optional, leave blank to be blunt

02 · DID YOU GET IT IN THE FIRST TEN SECONDS?

03 · WHICH QUESTION DO YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT?

04 · ANYTHING YOU WANT TO SAY

05 · WOULD YOU BUY THE MISSING BRICKS?

06 · WHAT WOULD YOU WANT TO MAKE?

OPTIONAL, IF YOU WORK WITH 3D RECONSTRUCTION OR STRUCTURES

Which half is harder: making it recognisable, or making it stand up?
